Brad enlisted into the Air Force directly after high school. His service included time in Oklahoma, Ohio and Japan.
After the Air Force he took a job with Boscov’s as an appliance repairman and antenna installer. He moved on to Western Electric doing test set construction. He stayed with Western Electric for 23 years. During his years at Western Electric he took opportunities to improve his skills. Through the GI Bill, he took classes in Electronics and TV Repair. He also took many company offered classes. Western Electric underwent multiple transformations: becoming AT&T Micro-Electronics, then Lucent Technologies, and finally Agere Systems. Through the years he soldiered and operated punch presses, drill presses, and sheers.
After Agere closed, Brad retired. He took a two-year IT/Networking course at BCTC. He worked for a short time as a punch press operator and then saw a job ad for Ai. He started at Ai in 2005 as an assembly technician. He continued improving his skills, teaching himself machining and taking classes in PLC’s, welding, & AutoCad.
Brad served Ai/WBA for more than 17 years. His continual quest to improve is an example for all. His meticulous work, attention to detail, and nearly flawless execution will be sorely missed. We can only hope that future generations of Ai/WBA employees will follow his example of hard work, self-improvement, and genuine concern for the company and fellow employees.
