Welcome to WBA, a small engineering firm based in south-eastern Pennsylvania. WBA has a long history supporting production and processing facilities. While you may not have ever heard of WBA, there is a good chance that we have played a role in your life. While our name is not on any of the products you use, our knowledge makes those products possible.
Here are some of the ways we may be a part of your life.
Paints and Pigments: Paints and inks are everywhere in modern life. We have sent engineers to paint plants in Maryland, California, China, Canada, and Pennsylvania, as well as ink plants in Italy. In addition, we have programmed equipment that shipped to Argentina, Mexico, Thailand, Japan, and throughout the US. There is a high probability that we have added color to your life.
Transportation: Paints for your car are not the only way we touch transportation. We have made shock absorbers, tested completed car batteries, made valve stems for motors and programmed the equipment that straitens drive shafts. Our contributions to transportation do not end there. We have worked on the lines that cut the posts for guard rails and worked on equipment that makes cement barriers and sound walls along highways. We have programmed pipeline control systems for transporting fuel as well as made the pipeline pipe itself. We have processed the stone to make roadways and the salt used to keep those roads safe. We programmed small cut to length lines used to make small enclosed trailers as well as production equipment for large eighteen wheel trailers.
Housing: We have programmed cement mixing and bagging lines and provided support to a plant that makes cement siding. We make test equipment for a company that makes lighting controls. We have supported a foundry that makes the cores for heating furnaces. We work on lines that print laminates for furniture and flooring and have made plastic flower pots at a blow molding company.
Health: We have woven and braided biomedical structures used for stents, vascular stents and other medical devices. We have processed titanium for used, among other things, for making replacement joints. We have assembled scalpels and medical kits used for performing the operations. And while we have not yet done any pharmaceutical work, we have made medicine bottles at an injection molding operation.
Food: We programmed a complete cupcake line in New Hampshire. We made donuts in New Jersey, Texas, Wisconsin, Tennessee, and Pennsylvania. We have been in pizza plants in Pennsylvania and North Carolina. We have processed nuts and produce. We have worked in the plants that produce chocolate as well as multiple candy manufacturing facilities that use that chocolate. In addition, we have manufactured many other products from pierogis to cheese sticks. In addition to baking, we have supported multiple meat processing plants. We have made both hams and the mesh bags they are packed in. We have made beer and the kegs it is shipped in.
Water / Wastewater: This is a more local operation, so if you are not from the eastern Pennsylvania region, we probably have not impacted this part of your life. If you are, however, there is a chance that we have either produced your water or processed your wastewater, since we have supported over double digits of water/wastewater facilities.
Entertainment: If you read, we may have produced your books or helped print your newspaper. If you prefer the outdoors, we may have helped produce your coat or gloves.
